Jared’s passion for the environment began when he was a young man exploring the north woods of Maine around his family’s camp. He has been immersed in the environment since a very young age, as his father was a Maine forester. Jared’s passion for the environment led him to seek an education in the environmental field.
Jared attended The University of Maine, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Environmental Science in 2010. Jared took part in internships in the Environmental Consulting industry between 2007 and 2010. Upon graduation in 2010, Jared joined his father’s company, Boyle Associates. Jared has 11 years of experience in the Environmental Consulting field encompassing natural resource assessment, wetland delineations, wetland functional assessments, vernal pool assessments, permitting, wetland creation/mitigation/restoration, post-construction monitoring, and environmental inspection.
Jared has worked as the lead Environmental Inspector on a large scale wind power project which was Maine’s largest wind power site at that time. As the company Environmental Inspector, he provides onsite sediment and erosion control inspections and permit compliance monitoring. He has also been the field lead and project manager of multiple large-scale natural resource assessment and reporting efforts throughout the state of Maine. Resource assessment projects provide clients with full wetland consulting services, including on-site field inspections for preliminary land evaluations, wetland delineations and mapping using GPS, vernal/significant vernal pool identification, functional assessment analysis (using USACE Highway Methodology and the New Hampshire Method), impact assessments, and mitigation design and monitoring.
As a project manager, Jared is responsible for management of field staff, as well as planning, scheduling, and accomplishing Boyle Associates’ environmental field efforts. Jared coordinates with local, state, and federal regulators, as well as client managers to make sure projects are completed efficiently, and in accordance with regulations while ensuring the highest quality project standards.
