History

About UsCEA, Inc. was cofounded in 1985 in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts by Steven M. Migridichian, C.P.G., P.G.; a young petroleum geophysicist who offered environmental consulting and remediation services with only a handful of employees and resources initially to the retail petroleum market. The firm has expanded over the years to meet increasing customer demands and geographic service areas within a business climate of ever changing environmental regulations. In 1993, CEA established a soil boring, probing, and drilling division, Drilex Environmental Inc. (Drilex), which specialized in all phases of drilling using cutting-edge equipment technologies. In 1996, CEA relocated its growing operations to the Hartwell Business Park in West Boylston, Massachusetts (a former Brownfields site) where it is still headquartered today.

In 2000, CEA, Inc. expanded its environmental consulting operation with the addition of senior principals Adam J. Last, P.E., LSP and Scott E. VanderSea, LSP, LEP. Mr. Last and Mr. VanderSea broadened CEA, Inc.’s depth of knowledge and experience, further propelling its technical capabilities and success. Currently Mr. Last and Mr. VanderSea serve as Regional Managers directing and overseeing all technical and operational aspects of our client services delivery. Also in 2000, CEA, Inc. added construction capabilities to CEA’s growing list of field and support services.

In 2006, Deborah N. Migridichian, former Controller and Chief Financial Operator (CFO) of the firm since 1988, was elevated to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/President. Shortly thereafter in 2009, CEA, Inc. became certified as a Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office. CEA, Inc. also became certified by the Woman’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) in 2009.

In 2016, CEA, Inc. was acquired by Joseph S. Campisi of Campisi Environmental Associates and began doing business as Corporate Environmental Advisors (CEA). Prior to Mr. Campisi taking ownership of CEA, Steven and Deborah Migridichian sold Drilex to Mr. Brad Brock, the former manager of Drilex, and also relinquished the remedial construction and environmental contracting portion of the firm in order focus the firm more closely on the environmental consulting aspects of the industry. CEA has continued to retain a close working relationship with Drilex since the recent changes.

Under the leadership of Mr. Campisi, CEA is now focusing its efforts on providing not only traditional environmental consulting, engineering and remediation services, but also an expanded array of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) services. Over the years, Mr. Campisi has cultivated a large network of EHS experts across the U.S. whom CEA intends to call upon periodically to support our ever expanding base of EHS clients and projects throughout New England.

In its almost 30 year history, CEA has made a conscious decision to invest in people, technology, management, and project tracking systems in order to outperform the competition when it comes to environmental consulting, especially, site characterization, risk assessment, remediation services and permanent site closure

Today CEA is one of New England’s most established, reliable and responsive locally-owned and operated full service environmental consulting firms. With the addition of branch offices in Colchester, Connecticut and Concord, New Hampshire, CEA is able to be highly responsive to all clients located throughout the New England States and New York.
